Starting with a relaxing night at a beach hotel in Negombo, conveniently located near the airport, the adventure kicks off with a visit to Kandy, with a stop at the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage.
Experience the charm of Sri Lanka’s hill country as you explore the Knuckles Forest Reserve, ideal for a day of bird watching, followed by a visit to the colonial hill station of Nuwara Eliya. After trekking across the misty landscapes of Horton Plains, head south to the Yala Nature Reserve, famous for its wildlife. The journey concludes with a visit to the Sinharaja Forest Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its rich biodiversity.

Itinerary
Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, you will be greeted with the warm hospitality Sri Lanka is known for. A representative from Siyaha Travels (Pvt) Limited will welcome you and transfer you to Negombo.
After checking in to your hotel, take some time to relax. In the evening, explore Negombo city, visiting its historical landmarks. You’ll also have the opportunity to enjoy a scenic boat ride along the Dutch Canal, and if you're interested, you can visit the fish market to witness the daily activities of Sri Lanka’s traditional fishing community, offering a unique insight into local life.

After breakfast, depart for Kandy. En route, visit the renowned Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage, where you can observe and interact with the majestic elephants.
Upon arrival in Kandy, check in to your hotel and take some time to rest. Once you're refreshed, continue your exploration of Kandy, a city rich in cultural heritage and natural beauty.

After breakfast, depart for Udawattakele, a historic forest reserve and sanctuary located to the north of the Temple of the Tooth in Kandy. Covering an area of 257 acres, this sanctuary is home to a variety of bird species, including the Sri Lanka Yellow-fronted Barbet, Sri Lanka Layard's Parakeet, Sri Lanka Spurfowl, and the Sri Lanka Spot-Winged Thrush, among others.
After your visit, continue your journey to the Knuckles Mountain Range. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and enjoy a peaceful evening surrounded by nature.

With over 120 bird species recorded in the area, you’ll have the chance to spot a range of fascinating birds. Among them, you may encounter 15 species that are endemic to Sri Lanka, including the Jungle Fowl, Yellow-fronted Barbet, Sri Lanka White-eye, Sri Lankan Grackle, Sri Lankan Lorikeet, Spot Wing Thrush, Dusk blue Flycatcher, Sri Lankan Blue Magpie, Brown-capped Babbler, and Layard’s Parakeet, to name a few. Enjoy the serenity and beauty of the forest as you discover its diverse avian residents.

After breakfast, depart for the heart of Sri Lanka’s Tea Country, Nuwara Eliya, a charming town situated over 6,000 feet above sea level. The scenic drive will take you through lush tea plantations, which blanket the hills like vibrant carpets, and past cascading waterfalls, creating a truly mesmerizing landscape.
Once in Nuwara Eliya, visit Victoria Park, a favorite spot for birdwatchers due to its peaceful atmosphere and variety of bird species. Keep an eye out for the elusive Indian Blue Robin, Pied Thrush, and Scaly Thrush, often found in the denser undergrowth. You may also spot the beautiful Kashmir Flycatcher, a rare and attractive species within the park.

After an early breakfast, we will depart for Horton Plains, the highest plateau in Sri Lanka and one of the country’s most significant national parks, known for its diverse topography and unique vegetation.
Horton Plains is home to numerous rare and endemic highland bird species, with 12 species of birds exclusive to the park. Keep an eye out for the Sri Lankan Blue Magpie, Dusky Blue Flycatcher, and the Sri Lanka Wood Pigeon, which can only be found here.
Enjoy a day of trekking through the plains, exploring its breathtaking landscapes and wildlife, before heading back to your hotel in Nuwara Eliya for a relaxing evening.

After breakfast, depart for Yala, with a scenic stop at Rawana Waterfalls along the way. The majestic waterfall is set against a stunning backdrop of mountains and valleys, offering a beautiful photo opportunity.
Upon arrival in Yala, check in to your hotel. In the afternoon, embark on an exciting jeep safari through Yala National Park, where you’ll explore the park’s diverse wildlife, including its famous leopards, elephants, and other animal species, accompanied by a skilled tracker to guide you through the park.

In the evening, head to Bundala National Park, a key habitat for birdwatchers. The park is home to 107 species of birds, including a wide variety of migratory water birds, making it an internationally important wintering ground. Enjoy a peaceful evening exploring this bird sanctuary, where you may encounter numerous fascinating species in their natural environment.

After breakfast, proceed to Ratnapura, with a scenic stop at Udawalawe National Park en route. Located south of the central hills in Sri Lanka’s dry zone, the park is a vital eco-tourism destination, featuring a mix of dry lowland forest, riverine forest, thorny scrublands, and grasslands. A highlight of the park is the Udawalawe Reservoir and the Walawe River, which flows through the park, offering picturesque views and a unique ecosystem.
After your visit to the park, continue your journey to Ratnapura, known as the city of gems. Upon arrival, enjoy a sightseeing tour of this vibrant city, famous for its rich history of gem mining. Ratnapura is home to some of the world’s most precious and semi-precious stones, including rubies, sapphires, and more. A visit here provides an opportunity to learn about the fascinating world of gem mining and explore this treasure-rich area.

After breakfast, head to the Sinharaja Forest Reserve, Sri Lanka's last remaining lowland rainforest. It's a unique place with a wide variety of rare and endemic species, including trees, insects, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals.
