After breakfast, make your way to your residence for the next two nights, Rainforest Edge. Located in Sinharaja Forest Reserve, this area is one of the last remaining lowland rainforests in Sri Lanka and is biologically unique. It’s a treasure trove of endemic species, including trees, insects, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals.
Due to the dense vegetation, wildlife can be harder to spot compared to dry zone national parks like Yala. However, bird watching here is especially rewarding, as Sinharaja is home to 95% of Sri Lanka's endemic bird species.

You’ll be staying in the heart of Sinharaja, Sri Lanka’s last remaining primary tropical rainforest. Over sixty percent of the flora here is endemic, with many species considered rare. The forest is also home to a rich variety of endemic wildlife, particularly birds. In fact, the reserve hosts over fifty percent of Sri Lanka’s endemic mammals, butterflies, and a diverse range of insects, reptiles, and rare amphibians.
Enjoy both a morning and evening private birdwatching trek in the forest, guided by a naturalist. This is a great opportunity to explore the incredible biodiversity of this UNESCO World Heritage site.

After breakfast, proceed to Mirissa. Along the way, we suggest a stop to explore the wonders of the UNESCO World Heritage Site — the 17th-century Dutch Fort in Galle. Galle is Sri Lanka’s oldest living city, and it still retains its unique, old-world charm. Wander through the maze of cobbled pathways, lined with quaint townhouses, and soak in the colonial atmosphere.
Continue your journey south towards the bay of Mirissa. During the drive, you’ll also witness a fascinating sight — the stilt fishermen of Weligama, skillfully balancing themselves on narrow stilts while casting their fishing lines into the ocean.

After breakfast, set off on a boat cruise, where you’ll hear the lively tunes of spinner dolphins traveling in pods. In the deeper waters, you may spot blue whales traveling in groups, while further out, you’ll encounter sperm whales, which typically travel alone. This makes Sri Lanka one of the best places in the world to see both blue and sperm whales together.
Afterward, proceed to Yala for the next leg of your adventure.
Overnight stay at a Hotel in Yala
After breakfast, embark on a jeep safari, accompanied by a naturalist guide. Yala National Park is renowned for its elephant and leopard sightings, so keep your eyes peeled for these majestic creatures roaming freely in the wild.
Later in the day, enjoy an evening game drive through the park, where you’ll have the chance to track the elusive Sri Lankan Leopard, elephants, sloth bears, and many other fascinating species of wildlife.

After breakfast, proceed to Udawalawe National Park, which spans 30,821 hectares and includes the large Udawalawe Tank, fed by the Walawe Ganga river. The park is home to around 500 elephants, which are often spotted near the river, streams, and reservoirs. In addition to elephants, the park is home to a variety of other wildlife, including wild buffalo, sambar deer, mongooses, bandicoots, foxes, water monitors, and crocodiles. You might even be lucky enough to spot the occasional sloth bear or leopard.

Enjoy your stay in the heart of the jungle, where you'll have plenty of time to embark on both morning and evening game drives. During the day, take the opportunity to visit the Elephant Transit Centre, where orphaned and injured elephants are cared for until they are ready to return to the wild. In the evening, if you're interested, you can go on an elephant safari to get up close with these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat.

In your free time, take a drive through the vibrant city, where you’ll see a unique blend of 16th-century colonial buildings and modern office structures.
